Nicaragua

I took a Viator trip from Costa Rica to Nicaragua last week and it was really great! Nicaragua borders Costa Rica and to the north Honduras and El Salvador. It is in Central America, between Mexico and South America. Its bordered by the Caribbean sea to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. Interesting to note, in other countries you can only use their currency, not the dollars from the neighbor. So in Nicaragua, they wouldn’t take the Costa Rican Colones, you had to use their dollar or credit card. One big feature is Lake Nicaragua, which has an island with two volcanoes in the center, and the country has volcanoes, many of them are active. The capital of the country is Managua. Most people in Nicaragua are mestizos, which is a mix of European and Indigenous Indian ancestry. They speak Spanish and it is a third world country, the monthly income of most Nicaraguans is about $300 a month and not steady income. Their country flag is three rows, blue on the outside and white in the middle with a seal and text in the center. The seal is a triangle with something that looks like an eye.
