China recipes

China is all about lemon tea. Just ice, lemon slices, lemon muddled, tea, and some sweetener. There are actually lemon tea places on almost every block around the populated areas. One thing I discovered though, from KFC is lemon coffee. This is delicious. It doesn’t sound delicious, but it is. It’s coffee, ice, and then I think lemon juice and it can have some simple syrup. Try it out. You will not be sorry.

I have had KFC in China, and Pizza Hut and McDonalds and many many Chinese things, nothing like anything “Chinese” in America, though. And nothing like these restaurants in America.

As my expat friend and colleuge, Burger said yesterday, China always puts its weird touch on everything. This is after he and his wife Suzanne tried the Subway BLT which included shrimp and barbecue sauce, and I had the tuna sub, which must have had barbecue sauce too.

The other recipe I really liked was a cilantro salad. I think this was cilantro, probably a whole head, chopped, tomatoes, and then almost like chopped peanut dressing, and all of this was over, some potato salad mounded under neath. It was very good.
