China

China is a country in Asia with a huge population and land mass. It covers 9596960 square kilometers and is epic in scale. I live in a region or province called Guangdong, in the city of Guangzhou and the district of Panyu. Panyu is as big as a full-fledged city. Even where I live in Panyu is the size of a full-fledged city. It’s hard to imagine the scale, in the terms I am used to, the scale and the grandeur of it. My vocabulary from America doesn’t fit the bill. Neighborhood to describe my local area doesn’t fit either. My neighborhood is an urban planners dream world. So, I try to use my words that don’t necessarily fit to describe it. The money system is RMB or yuen, but all money is done electronically on apps and QR codes. We use Didi instead of Uber, but there are taxis. There is an amazing subway system, busses and high-speed rail. These are efficient and take you almost anywhere. I have explored such a small section of China but look forward to exploring more.
