Walkabout Santiago

For breakfast I had a sandwich, which was amazing, but undescribable. It had iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, maybe a local luncheon meat ham, a mixture of mayo and ketchup sauce, it was so good. This day I caught the Uber down to downtown, Centrale Santiago. I went to Mercato Modelo. It was crazy. The “spaces” were down tight, overfilled “corridors” with “puddles” of who knows what flowing through. I got many once overs as I passed through, often right next to the patrons, just sitting and waiting or working. They were selling shoes and purses and socks and dry goods. I said hola to all of the people. Then I walked around town. I stopped in at the local art museum and used el banyo. The people were nice even though I could barely communicate with them. I went through a big park surrounded by pretty buildings. I was walking around and came across a barrier in the road. What do you do? Go through the street or down the sketchy alley? I chose the sketchy alley :) I tried to keep near the market, so I wouldn’t get lost. I ate at a local restaurant, Sol. It was very local. I was the one and only tourist. I pointed to what I wanted. I finally had mofongo. I was able to go to the bathroom again. Then I walked up the street to the Cathedral of Santiago de Los Caballeros. I sat for a little bit and had a rest from all of my walking, and let Douglas out for a bit. Then I walked up to a restaurant nearby and had a vino and I got the Uber from there. Later I took the Uber to a restaurant I found online. It was a hotspot filled with amazingly hot Dominican men. I had the most amazing quipes. It was a great day.
