House building in Caribbean

One thing I’ve noticed in the places I have gone — Italy, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Guatemala - is that the houses appear to be made from concrete and cinder blocks, and in fact, I like this style of home. The walls are sturdy and I like the look of them. And the floors are tile. Here’s an article I found on building styles in Jamaica. Here’s one on Puerto Rico. Here’s one about Mexico. I’ve seen workers building buildings with cinder blocks, which is actually a sight. In Dominican Republic they lift the cinder blocks up to the second floor with like rope. But I like the look and style of these buildings.
