First day, Costa Rica
On the airplane, I was wondering if I got a stomach bug, because my stomach was so crampy! The guy sitting next to me I could tell was irritated for the 2 times I had to get up to go to the bathroom — when there I only had gas. The only way to relieve my stomach pain was to push on my stomach. The only place I would have got sick was in Venice Beach, California. I was on a red eye flight and dad and the son next to me were sleeping, so I understand his irritation but still.
On my first day, I arrived at 6: 15 a.m. Here is a video about my arrival. So when we were heading in on the airplane to Liberia, Costa Rica, the airplane started to descend and land, and then suddenly pulled up really high. I guess the fog and the clouds were so thick on land that the pilot didn’t think he could land. It was the strangest thing. The dad next to me, who must have been a local, was explaining to his son what was going on, I felt to also explain to me, because I must have looked bewildered. The pilot said we were going to circle around above Liberia awhile to wait for the right weather moment. If it didn’t work out, we were going to have to go to San Jose to get gas and come back and try again. Subsequently, I recorded a video of when we landed.
I got to my hotel, La Oveja Surf Hotel, but they didn’t do check in until 3, but they made an exception and checked me in early. I got to have breakfast when I arrived though. When I got in to my lovely room, I went to the bathroom, took a shower and then took a four hour nap. Then I set out to explore a bit.
On my adventure an epic rain storm happened. There are no sidewalks on the street, just rocky dirt, so when the rainstorm happened, it was then muddy spots and puddles. I’m glad I didn’t slip and fall on my bum. The rainstorm chose my restaurant which was sushi. I had the best bloody mary made with sake, tacos made out of nori and filled with sashimi, and California rolls.
I headed back to my room. As stated in the reviews before I made my reservation, the room was loud because the walls were thin, and also in the lobby there was a band playing music epically loud. I have had noisy rooms before and have made due. I was playing a 9 hour chakra meditation video on my laptop, which I put right by the door (the noisiest place) and then I went to sleep. I slept wonderful until 7:30 a.m. this morning, at which time I closed my laptop. I had filled in some form on Facebook which said my head chakra was blocked, so I figured I could clear my head chakra while I slept. (insert curtsy emoji here).
