The origins of Places to Take My Son

My sweet boy, Liel

This amazing, handsome, perfect being is my teen son, Liel Quinn Guthrie. He’s smart, wonderful, insightful, funny, a great friend, adventurer and the coolest kid I know. Somehow, we are estranged. I told him I will fly him anywhere in the world that I am.

So, I thought I would bring his childhood stuffy, Douglas the mountain goat with me on my travels, as places I want to bring my son. Douglas may come back a different color. I plan to go to Holi in India and maybe a dip in the Ganges River. Standing atop the Great Wall of China.

Until then, we will camp. So far Douglas has had a dip in the Pacific and sand in his hooves.
