Viator trips

I first went on some Viator trips in Guatemala when my stay was extended a few days. There, I took a trip to Antigua, and was the only person on the tour. It was great fun. My second trip was with 2 other men who I met on my tour and it was to Chichicastenega in Guatemala. It was very fun. Then we went to a market, we went to Chichicastenenga, lunch and the cemetery, which is very colorful. In Costa Rica, I went on a mangrove boat tour. This was quite fun and I saw all kinds of critters including land crabs, a large green lizard swimming through the water, iguanas, spider monkeys and many birds including a yellow headed heron. It was a great tour and very relaxing. The tour guide gave us pineapple, which was fresh cut, and like sliced in a 6th, length wise, then cut down the rind, but left on the rind and then sliced into almost cubes. It was delicious! Then we put the rinds in the water for the land crabs. My last tour was a long day trip to Nicaragua. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to go. We started at 4:30 a.m. (although my clock was an hour behind, so I had to rush out. My cell phone didn’t update to local time), drove to Nicaragua, walked across the border on foot, then we went on a boat tour and saw Monkey Island and the islands of Grenanda. There were 3 spider monkeys who lived on the island. We went to the city of Grenada and shopped a bit, but none of us had the Nicaraguan currency, so it limited our spending power. I liked some of the musical vendors and the pigeon feeder, who had water bowls for the pigeons to take a water bath. We went to the Bate Bate Chocolate factory and had many samples including a tea made of cocoa shells, a chocolate brandy, a chocolate sangria, a ginger syrup, and some chocolate sauce. They were all amazing. My favorite part was the chair hammocks. I wish we had more time to sit a bit. We went to the city square at Grenada. My favorite part was the Cathedral of Grenada. There was service going on, but their was beautiful music from within and you could hear it in the square. Then we went to lunch and had a delicous spread. After that we went to the active volcano and then we went to Catarina and did a quick bit of shopping and looking at the lake. I got a little picture from a vendor and a magnet for my mom. Then we went back across the border and headed back to Tamarindo. We got back to our hotels at 9:30 p.m. It was an amazing day.
