Day 2 in Jamaica
Today I went to the beach. I went to Dead End Beach and Dump Up Beach in Montego Bay. My rasta taxi driver, Bonnie drove me to the beach from my B&B after breakfast. He gave me his number and we tested it in case I needed another ride back. He was a better driver than my last yesterday and he had great music. The beach was so lovely. The sand was almost white. The water was many varieties of turquoise. It is warm, like bathwater, and salty, and perfect. Tomorrow I want to go back and explore more. Later I will go to Negril. I had a ride home, but way outside of my way thanks to Google Maps, I finally got to the right spot, back at Mango Walk. I was so tired, I took a 2 hour nap and then have just been hanging in my room this afternoon and evening. I washed some of my clothes with the laundry soap I bought at the small grocery I visited today. For dinner I had Jamaican water crackers. Ha. Per my “Best thing that happened to me” journal, I have 3 for today: 1. I woke up in Jamaica 2. Local carribbean breakfast 3. I swam in the ocean in Jamaica. Until tomorrow, yea mon.
